The Vasil Levski Educational and Cultural Foundation was founded in 2007 in San Diego, California as a nonprofit public benefit corporation. 

The Foundation is organized under the Nonprofit Public Benefit Corporation Law for charitable purposes and is also tax-exempt as a nonprofit organization pursuant to section 501(c)(3) of the Internal and Revenue Code of 1986 (IRC). The Foundation has adopted and follows a Racially Nondiscriminatory Policy and as a Conflict of Interest Policy.

As it grows, the Foundation will expand its activities to include a variety of cultural and educational programs.  It is becoming the center of the Bulgarian community in San Diego, as it organizes various celebrations of Bulgarian holidays and festivals.

The Bulgarian school run by “Vasil Levski" Education and Cultural Foundation admits students of any race, color, national origin and ethnic origin to all the rights, privileges, programs and activities, generally accorded to or made available to students at the school.  It does not discriminate on the basis of race, color, national origin and ethnic origin in administration of its educational policies, admission policies, scholarship and loan programs, and athletic and other school- administered programs.

Article I

Purpose
The purpose of the conflict of interest policy is to protect this tax-exempt organization’s (Organization) interest when it is contemplating entering into a transaction or arrangement that might benefit the private interest of an officer or director of the Organization or might result in a possible excess benefit transaction. This policy is intended to supplement but not replace any applicable state and federal laws governing conflict of interest applicable to nonprofit and charitable organizations.
